Warmer Kiwi Homes is a government programme offering grants covering two thirds of the cost of ceiling and underfloor insulation as well as moisture barriers. Additional contributions from community organisations will be sought to make the retrofits as low cost as possible in many regions. On 1 July 2019, funding for heating was released. The grants will cover two thirds of the cost of a heat pump or an efficient wood burner or pellet burner. The heating grant is capped at $3,000.00 (GST Inc).
